Founded in 1998, the Notre Dame Law Students' Society NDLSS is the student body that represents all students currently studying law at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle. The NDLSS is comprised of a committee which is elected by students and staff towards the end of each year. The committee works with firms, staff, students and the NDSA to improve student wellbeing across the Fremantle campus. Throughout the year the NDLSS puts on various social, wellbeing, sporting and career orientated events as well as competitions both on and off campus. The NDLSS also publishes the Notre Dame Law Report and various newsletter each year.
The NDLSS committee is comprised of an executive under which various portfolios are responsible for different aspects of student wellbeing. To view the current committee, visit The Committee page under the About page.
The NDLSS holds various competitions throughout the year. These competitions help students hone their legal skills in various areas such as mooting, negotiation and client interviews. There are opportunities for talented students to travel domestically and internationally to represent Notre Dame. To learn more about competitions, visit the Competitions page.
The NDLSS holds numerous social events across the year. Annually the NDLSS ball and sundowner are held every year. Some other events that have been held in the past include the quiz night, first year and final year events and cocktail parties. To learn more about social events, visit the Events page.
Student wellbeing is one of the key roles of the NDLSS. The NDLSS works to provide information, support and assistance to all law students. In 2025 the NDLSS improved student wellbeing through firm-sponsored coffee vans and therapy dogs. The NDLSS committee is also involved yearly in the Law Access: Walk For Justice.
